Survival of the fittest

Do you see the four little Bacopa plants at the front of the pot?

I found those growing in a tiny crevice between our house and the brick patio...a scorching hot environment with little water. I almost threw them away as weeds. But when I looked closely, I saw the itsy bitsy lavender flower that told me it was Bacopa {a window box above the area where I found them held some Bacopas last summer}. These little plants had survived the winter and the unseasonable heat of this spring. And tiny as they are, when I pulled them up {not carefully because I thought they were weeds}, they came out roots intact! I knew then that I had to transplant this special little quartet into a spot where I could look at them all summer and rejoice and find encouragement in their tenacity!
