Unifying with black and white

I've lived with a bare, naked kitchen side door window for many years. Privacy is not so much the issue here because the door looks out into a three-sided alcove. However, from the interior view, the area has always bugged me because it is a white-out hallway area. White, white, white. I liked the light, but this window has been begging for covering long enough!

Finally I took the plunge and forced myself to make a decision regarding fabric. I consider myself an "intuitive decorator." Sometimes I procrastinate on a project because I don't want to commit to a decision-- afraid I will make the wrong one. This time I decided it was time to make a choice-- even if it was wrong. This is just fabric. I could change my mind.

I opted to go with a black and white chevron pattern. I also purchased a white lining fabric. I've often used black/white combinations to bring a unifying element to the design in my home. It is like a punctuation mark at the end of a sentence. The black and white allows the eye to travel and then rest. If you have visited "notes to anne" along the way, you will remember some of these examples.

black and white~
 in fabric,
on walls,
on floor,
with plates

Do you have a project stalled due to indecision?

Do I have a stalled project...ha! they are all stalled due to indecision. There are too many options in life. How am I supposed to be able to choose the right thing from so many rights. It's a matter of good, better, best. Best is hard to figure. I think your new window is a definite improvement. Thanks for coming by to comment at Quirky Vistas! Loving that silver. Saw yours the other day after I posted about my new love. I'm glad to see someone to share that joy with.
