Purple: the other color of the season

Autumn ignites the visual sense. With the vibrant colors of changing deciduous leaves~ oranges, reds, and yellows~ we are stopped in our tracks.

But have you noticed another color~ purple~ that appears in the changing look of some of the ornamental grasses? Recently I enjoyed capturing some of Mr. Anne's collection. See the faint and sometimes not-so-faint purple hue in these specimens: 1) Maiden Grass~ Zebra, 2) Northern Sea Oats, 3) Pennisetum Karley Rose.

Another beautiful quality of these grasses is their graceful sway in the breeze. I've included a short video so you may enjoy a visual of this grass swinging to the beat on a lightly windy day.
